ERB-1

EXTERNAL RELAY BOX

DESCRIPTION

The ERB-1 is a self contained external relay box designed to be a buffer between your HF radio and linear amplifier. It can be powered from 3 different sources for easy installation.

1. Battery: The ERB-1 has a 9 volt battery compartment for simple and quick installation to your linear and radio. (Battery not included)

2. Power adapter: The ERB-1 can also be powered by an optional AC power cube.

3. Direct wired: The ERB-1 can be wired directly to a power source from your radio. It requires 10MA of current at 5 to 18VDC.

SIMPLE TO USE

The ERB-1 uses all RCA phono jacks and can be connected to many popular radios and linears using standard RCA to RCA cables with no extra wiring.

RUGGED

Accidents can happen. All inputs and outputs of the ERB-1 are overvoltage and overcurrent protected.

BEV-1

BEVERAGE INPUT PROTECTOR

DESCRIPTION

The BEV-1 is a self contained beverage or receive antenna input protector. It is designed to prevent RF and static surges from damaging your radio when using a beverage antenna.

It is always best to space your beverage antenna as far away from your transmit antenna as possible to avoid RF coupling between them. In the real world, this spacing my not always be adequate.

HOW IT WORKS

The BEV-1 uses two stages of protection. It uses diode protection which is always in line. It also uses relay protection. Relay protection is activated by the following two methods.

1. (PTT Activation) When the PTT input of the BEV-1 is pulled low the relay protection is activated. Note: PTT activation is an optional hookup since RF detection activation is automatic.

2. (RF Detection Activation) The BEV-1 has a high speed RF detector circuit which automatically activates when excessive RF is sensed on the beverage antenna. This makes the BEV-1 simple to connect with no additional wiring.
